How to convert oz to mL

Enter the volume, choose the starting unit and choose the unit you want. The result updates as you type. Use “Swap units” to reverse the calculation while keeping the equivalent volume.

mL ≈ US fl oz × 29.57
US fl oz ≈ mL ÷ 29.57

One Imperial fluid ounce is approximately 28 mL. A US cup is eight US fluid ounces, approximately 237 mL. Displayed values are rounded for everyday use; the calculation keeps the precise conversion factors. This converter uses those volume definitions, not a 240 mL nutrition-label cup.

Fluid ounces are volume, not weight

A fluid ounce measures how much space a liquid takes up. An ounce of weight measures mass. This tool converts fl oz, mL, liters and US cups; it does not convert weight ounces or grams.

The same volume conversion works for water, milk and other liquids. Converting a liquid’s weight to volume would also require its density.

From bottle size to daily habit

Knowing that your bottle holds about 473 mL helps you count what you drink. It does not tell you how much you personally need. Use our daily water intake calculator for a rough starting estimate, then read how to build a hydration habit.
